How I built two premium beauty brands with purpose, precision and profit

Running a successful business in the beauty industry takes more than talent. It takes vision, grit, and a deep understanding of what your clients truly value. Running two businesses requires strategy, leadership and clarity.

As the founder of Beachside Ink and The Australian Academy of Fibroblast, I have built two very different yet complementary brands, both rooted in integrity, results and advanced education. One focuses on restorative cosmetic tattooing tailored for mature women. The other is a nationally recognised training academy delivering premium, non-invasive skin rejuvenation education.

While they serve different purposes, both businesses are united by one philosophy: Elevate the standard.

Starting with a clear point of difference

When I first entered the beauty space, I noticed a gap. Women seeking refined, age-appropriate results were often overlooked or treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. I launched Beachside Ink to restore natural features with subtlety and care, offering bespoke cosmetic tattooing for brows, eyes and lips, as well as tailored fibroblast skin rejuvenation for those wanting a natural alternative to injectables.

Each service is private, customised and delivered with a clinical understanding of facial anatomy, ageing and skin function. Fibroblast quickly became a cornerstone treatment, allowing me to offer clients visible results without chemicals, needles, or exaggerated enhancements.

As demand grew, I began attracting clients who had been underserved or poorly treated elsewhere. Many came to me not just for the results, but for reassurance. That was when I realised my true strength was not only technical, but in creating a trusted, expert-led experience that respected each client’s individuality.

Expanding into education with purpose

From there, my second business was born.

After witnessing how poorly Fibroblast treatments were being taught and performed in the wider market, I felt compelled to step in. With my international background in  Business and Innovation Management, Training experience, and commitment to excellence, I saw an opportunity to deliver a higher standard of education.

The Australian Academy of Fibroblast is now the only training institution in the country offering a complete practitioner development pathway. Our curriculum covers technique mastery, business mentoring, safe practice, client communication and high-end service positioning.

We do not just teach dot placement. We teach discernment, strategy and the confidence to operate at a premium level.

Wearing the CEO hat twice

Running two businesses requires structure, systems and an ability to think long-term. I rely heavily on automation, strategic branding, and a deep understanding of my audience to ensure each brand stays aligned with its vision and values.

Beachside Ink going forward will be by-referral-only, allowing me to focus more on mentorship, education and growth. I work with students across Australia and the US, speak at industry events, and coach beauty professionals on how to scale their businesses with purpose.

There have been challenges, particularly during economic shifts or while entering new markets. But strong foundations, a clear brand identity, and a commitment to excellence have helped both businesses remain resilient and respected.

Lessons from the journey

  1. Depth creates demand: Clients and students are no longer satisfied with surface-level offers. They want substance, integrity, and someone who understands the “why” behind every treatment or strategy.
  2. Your brand is your boundary: By positioning my work as exclusive and high-value, I attract clients and students who respect what I offer and are willing to invest in quality.
  3. Education builds empires: Investing in learning and teaching has been the single most powerful growth strategy in my career. Expertise creates trust, and trust builds business.
  4. Clarity creates momentum: It is easy to get distracted by trends, but real impact comes from knowing your niche, owning it and delivering unmatched value within it.

The future: Leading with legacy

Today, both of my businesses continue to grow. More importantly, they are making a meaningful difference. Whether restoring confidence in a client or mentoring a practitioner toward professional excellence, this work matters.

Success in the beauty industry is not just about offering services. It is about leadership, integrity, and consistently delivering value that lasts beyond the treatment room. That is what I am most proud of and what I will continue to stand for in every part of my work.
